iPod on Linux

Finally solved my iPod problems on Ubuntu with Banshee. It works well, synchronizes the iPod, dowloads Podcasts. The only thing missing are video effects.

Moderator

The roster of participants is really impressive. We will meet in Rome on June 14th, for the first meeting of the First Generation Network.

I will be moderating a panel. It will be interesting because all the participants are entrepreneurs, some of them working for institutions now.

BAIA

BAIA is the Business Association Italy America. They are based in Silicon Valley and help Italian Entrepreneurs with contacts and opportunities in the Valley.

Franco Folini from BAIA interviewed me a few days ago. The interview is online.

Agree 100%

Smells like bubble and it is not fun anymore.

This is why I am more and more interested in Microbiology and Artificial Intelligence and I am bored of Web 2.0 (as a word and as a state of mind).

And what about Web 2.0 in Italy?

This seems to be the situation in Germany. I would say that the situation in Italy is not much brighter ...

BTW: web 2.0 has no real meaning; it is only useful to describe the new Web Based business in general

Lunch

I was invited to a lunch in Rome with John Hennessy who is President of Stanford and was able to ask a few questions about technology. Interesting!

Jeremy joins Wikia

I met Jeremy when he was on the Board of the Jabber Software foundation with me in 2001. Given Jeremy's background and Wales' background, they might really come up with an Open Source / Open Protocol service that could rival the de facto monopoly of todays search engines.
